NDIS Support at Ataraxy Art

Kathleen Belmonte's NDIS Worker Screening ID is: 94603815, which expires on 14 March 2029. As an advocate for mental health improvement, she emphasises the importance of NDIS participant support and incorporates techniques such as counselling and transpersonal art therapy in her practice.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Support

Ataraxy Art offers a safe and supportive environment for NDIS participant support, providing a structured creative space designed to help individuals explore self-expression, build functional capacity, and enhance overall well-being. Through transpersonal art therapy and counselling, participants engage in the creative process—including drawing, painting, journaling, and working with natural or found objects—as an evidence-based tool for mental health improvement and personal growth. Each session is goal-oriented and tailored to meet the capacity-building objectives outlined in your NDIS plan.

How Art Therapy Maps to Your NDIS Goals

Art therapy is a recognised therapeutic approach that focuses on mental health improvement while fostering long-term independence and community participation. I work collaboratively with participants, families, and coordinators of NDIS participant support to achieve meaningful outcomes in the following areas:

Emotional Regulation & Psychosocial Functioning: Developing practical, creative coping strategies to manage anxiety, stress, and sensory or emotional overload.

Capacity Building & Daily Living Skills: Enhancing autonomy, decision-making, and executive functioning through hands-on, sequential creative tasks.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Building vital alternative communication pathways for individuals who find traditional 'talk therapies' challenging or restrictive.

Identity & Self-Esteem: Discovering personal strengths, establishing boundaries, and fostering a strong sense of personal agency through transpersonal art therapy.

Fine Motor & Cognitive Stimulation: Improving spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and sensory processing using diverse tactile mediums.

NDIS Funding & Compliance

The services offered are fully aligned with the current 2026 NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL) to enhance mental health improvement for participants.

Ataraxy Art welcomes NDIS participants who are either Self-Managed or Plan-Managed.

Billing Note: As a current ACA/PACFA Student Member, services can be safely claimed under Core Supports (Community Participation) or as a Therapy Assistant (Level 2) depending on your plan structure. It is beneficial to collaborate with the person or team already providing mental health support to ensure optimal NDIS participant support. Please check with your plan manager to confirm that your budget allocation covers these categories.

Below is purely an example:

Option 1: The Split Invoicing Method (Therapy + Support Work)

1 hour of focused, professional transpersonal art therapy or counselling, and an additional 2 hours as support work (community access, social skills development, or guiding through independent daily living tasks).

1 Hour of Transpersonal Art Therapy or Counselling: $140.00 (materials provided)

2 Hours of Core Support Work: $70.23 x 2 = $140.46

Total for the 3 hours: $285.46

Option 2: The Core Support Work Method (Full 3 Hours)

If the entire 3-hour session focuses on community access, mentoring, or using art as a recreational hobby and general capacity-building exercise (rather than clinical therapy), you can bill the entire block as standard support work under the Core Supports budget:

3 Hours of Support Work: $210.69 (3 hours × $70.23)

Experience shows that it is best to have at least a minimum of 2 hours booked for individuals requiring extra support to facilitate emotional regulating.

My Experience - Kathleen Belmonte

For the past 30 years, I have dedicated my life to helping individuals navigate complexities, cultivate independence, and build resilience, focusing on mental health improvement. My practice is grounded in a diverse foundation of formal training, professional front-line experience, and deep personal insight.

Professional Experience & Front-Line Advocacy

Crisis & Recovery Support: Served as a Dual Diagnosis Residential Rehab Worker for GROW, where I provided intensive mental health and addiction recovery support.

Disability & Neurological Care: Worked extensively as a Recreational Worker for individuals with acquired brain injuries and later as a Recreational Coordinator for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, emphasizing NDIS participant support.

Lived Experience & Caregiving: Developed a profound, firsthand understanding of care dynamics through years of caring for elderly parents and serving as a foster parent for adolescents with intensive behavioral needs. My lived experience includes navigating through life's harrowing moments, such as death, chronic health issues, and personal hardships, sometimes feeling overwhelmed.

Relevant Education & Therapeutic Training

Diploma of Counselling (In Progress) – Advanced clinical frameworks, building upon prior university-level coursework toward a Bachelor of Counselling.

Transpersonal Art Therapy – I utilize creative, holistic modalities to facilitate deep inner healing and self-discovery, emphasizing the importance of transpersonal art therapy in my practice.

Certificate III in Community Support (Disabilities) – This foundational training launched my lifelong career in human services. I continually pursue ongoing training and professional development while upskilling at work or through fostering.

Custom Services

A Truly Personalised Approach to Mental Health Improvement

Services are flexible enough to accommodate different nervous systems, communication styles, and processing needs, ensuring that NDIS participant support is tailored to your unique requirements. Our sessions are designed based on what actually works for you:

Total Autonomy & Choice: If a rigid plan feels overwhelming or restrictive, I don't use one. I prioritise collaborative, side-by-side exploration where you choose the focus, the artistic medium, or the activity, making it a truly personalised experience.

Structure When You Want It: If you feel safest with a predictable, step-by-step routine, I can build a consistent framework for our sessions, incorporating transpersonal art therapy techniques so you always know what to expect.

Freedom to Pivot: Your energy and capacity can change from day to day. Whether we are doing focused therapeutic work or a longer three-hour community session, we can change the plan at any moment with zero judgment. NB: Cancellations will need to follow the cancellation policy.

Low-Demand Environment: I focus on intrinsic interest, curiosity, and comfort. There is no pressure to perform, no "required" outcomes, and no expectation to talk if you prefer to just create or simply exist in a supportive space, enhancing your journey towards mental health improvement.
